In a preface written for Tencent Research Institute’s new book Internet plus Manufacturing, Tencent chairman and CEO Mr Pony Ma believes an ongoing digital transformation and industrial upgrading will turn China’s manufacturing enterprises into big data, cloud computing and AI-driven firms, and making China a world’s leading power in industrial Internet by 2025. TRI Report | Cross-Industry Games: Market Map and Value Analysis

On November 8, Tencent Research Institute (TRI) released its latest report Games for Vertical Field: Market Map and Value Analysis at the Internet Frontier Salon. The report predicts a double-digit growth rate at 16.38 percent for cross-industry video games, and expects the market size could reach US$5.45 billion by 2020. It urges different sectors to cooperate on developing cross-industry games, ranging from military training, education, medical service, to business administration purposes, with incubators and innovation labs. AI Revolution and Its Impact on Labor Markets, Income Distribution
联合国最新发布的研究报告《新技术革命对劳动力市场和收入分配的影响》认为，人工智能等前沿技术有望引领一场新技术革命，尽管新技术不可避免地对劳动力市场带来影响，腾讯研究院秘书长张钦坤、法律研究中心副主任蔡雄山及多位研究员对该报告进行了深入解读。报告指出，AI等新兴技术在短期内或将取代部分手动和认知的常规工作任务，但认为技术将引起80％的失业率也是不切实际的。长远而言新技术将创造更多就业机会，并改变传统工作模式。总体而言，技术创新不会导致总体失业和普遍失业。
The biggest public fear on AI and robots is probably the new technologies will replace human jobs on a large scale, resulting in mass unemployment. In its latest report The Impact of the Technological Revolution on Labor Markets and Income Distribution, United Nations suggests AI and robotics will replace certain tasks rather than complete occupations. Meanwhile, AI will also create jobs and demand new skills from workers, as well as enable workers to shift away from traditional work arrangements.
